Breakdown Voltage Machine

IIJ-II Oil Breakdown Voltage Tester is produced by our company, which adopts industrial single plate integrated circuit, new-style I/O jack, with unique inspection and anti-jamming technology to greatly improve its reliability and functionality.

4.       Operation Instruction

1.  prepare to start

To set the power switch to “OFF” position, connect earth wire in good condition. Connect AC220V to device with special power cord, turn on the power, the LCD will display Model, name, code, system time, etc…basic informaiton (starting logo)

 

 

 

2.  Data setting

2.1  To set system time

2.1.1              starting logo, press (Menu) button to enter main menu. There are three options for the main menu: “Set Time” “Set Parameter ” and “Inquire Data ”.

 

 

 

2.1.2              To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Set Time”, press ( Enter ) button again to enter time setting interface.

 

 

 

2.1.3              To press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to the data what need to be set or changed, press  [­ ] and [¯] button to change data. For example: press [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to Month position.

2.1.4              Pressing [­ ] button can change Month to 03.

2.1.5              After changed it, press (Enter) button to save the data and return to previous menu.

2.2   Test mode setting

2.2.1              Start logo, press (Menu) button to enter main menu. There are three options for main menu: “Set Time” “Set Parameter ” and “Inquire Data ”.

 

 

2.2.2              To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Set Parameter ”, press ( Enter ) button again to enter setting interface.

2.2.3              To press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to the data what need to be  revised or changed, press  [­ ] and [¯] button to change data.

2.2.4.1          If choose “IEC156 Mode”, press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to “Mode”, press  [­ ] and [¯] button to choose “IEC156”.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2.2.4.2          If choose “Self-definition Mode”, press [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor “Definition”, press (Enter) button to enter “Definition ” change status.

 

 

 

 

2.2.4.2.1  To press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to what then data need to be changed, press  [­ ] and [¯] button to change data

 

Remarks: The preset data includes: The highest voltage (no need to modify generally), settling time, stand time, stirring time, testing times, etc…Among which the highest voltage setting range from 5kV to rated max voltage, and the min scope of adjustment is 1kV. For instance 80kV tester can be set from 5kV to 80kV; 100kV tester from 5kV to 100kV, settle time range is 0~999 seconds; stand time range is 0~999 seconds; stirring time range is 0~999 seconds; testing times range 1~6 times.

 

2.3                     Test number setting

2.3.1       Start logo, press (Menu) button to enter main menu. There are three options for main menu: “ Set Time ” “Set Parameter ” and “Inquire Data ”.

2.3.2       To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Set Parameter ”, press ( Enter) button again to enter time setting interface

2.3.3       To press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to the data what need to be changed, press  [­ ] and [¯] button to change data.

 

 

 

3.   Data management

Data management includes data review and data printing.

3.1  Start logo, press (Menu) button to enter main menu. There are three options for main menu: “Set Time ” “Set Parameter ” and “Inquire Data ”.

 

 

3.2  To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Inquire Data”, press (Enter) button to enter data management status, LCD will display “test number XX”. from 0~9 number, the shadow cursor is at the first “X”.

3.3  To press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to move shadow cursor to the data what need to be changed (e.g.: press [ ®] ), press  [­ ] and [¯] button to change data. (If don’t need change, press (Menu) button and return to starting logo interface.)

 

3.4  After data modified, press (Enter) button to enter review status, the device will display the first page testing data.

 

 

3.5  To press [¯] button to review test data in the second page.

3.6  To press [¯] button to review about next page (the third page) testing data of the code.

(There is a black bar in the middle of blank vertical frame on the right side of LCD to show the current page on the whole page’s position. The black bar on the top of the frame shows its position as first page, in middle means second page, at bottom means third page)

3.7        Under this status, press  [ ¬] and [ ®] button to review other test data. (press [ ¬] button to review previous data, press [ ®] button to review next data of the current number)

3.8        The data at any pages can be printed by press (Print) button accordingly.

3.9        When tester is under printing status, press (Menu) button may stop printing and return to starting logo interface.

3.10     After review /printing is finished, press (Enter) button to return to “Inquire No. XX” menu; Pressing (Menu) button can return to starting logo interface.

 

 

4.  Start test

4.0  Preparation before test

4.0.1  Open the top cover, put your hands on the two sides of the tester, take off the top cover of organic glass insulating shield upwards slightly;

4.0.2   Put the oil sample cup on the high voltage electrodes slightly, then close the organic glass cover (the side of the cover should press on the auto switch, or else the device will give an error message of “Door Opened”);

4.0.3   Set the power switch to “OFF” position, and connect ground wire in good condition.

4.0.4   Connect AC220V to device with special power cord;

4.1    Start logo, press (Test) button, the device will start to run as per setting parameter.

(According to IEC156) the display will be on still interface ( settle time is set to 180S countdown time)

 

4.1.1   After 180 seconds countdown time is over, the tester will turn on and start to voltage increasing;

 

4.1.2   When oil is broken down by high voltage or the voltage goes up to the maximum value, the tester will cut off main power immediately, LCD display closed. About 3 seconds later, LCD displays voltage decreasing;

 

4.1.3   When voltage fall down to zero, LCD display Standing interface.

 

 

4.1.4   After 60 seconds waiting, LCD displays stirring interface, then the tester will stir the sample oil automatically.

 

4.1.5   After stirring 60 seconds, the tester start to increase voltage;

 

 

4.1.6   ……

The device will display and print test results after six tests are finished. Pressing  [­ ] and [¯] button can review the test results of the second or third page.

4.2           After finished printing, printer stops printing, but printer power is still on, in the meantime, you can replace paper. LCD displays test results. Press (Menu) button to cut off printer power and return to logo; press (Enter) button to cut off printer power and enter main menu so as to set conveniently.

4.3           In the course of testing, press (Menu) button to cancel the test.

4.4           If the device is under voltage increasing, press (Menu) button, main power is turned off, LCD displays “test cancelled, Step Down”, after falling to zero voltage, the tester displays logo.

4.5           If the device is on voltage decreasing, press (Menu) button, LCD display logo.

4.6           If the device is under time setting or stirring status, press (Menu) button, LCD display logo.

4.7           After canceling a test, you can still review and print the test results. But the test number is still the present one , unless you revise the test number manually.

 

5.       When power off in the course of testing

5.1        During testing, if the main power is suddenly cut off, you restart the tester after power is on. There are three menu options displayed on the screen: “(10s later) Continue”, “Reset” and “Inquire Result”

 

 

5.2        Default option in system is “ (10S) continue”. The tester will go on testing if no choice in made for the three options within 10 seconds.

5.3        To press  [­ ] and [¯] button and move shadow cursor, 10 seconds time counting stops,  “(10s) Continue”, menu change to “Reset”. Move shadow cursor to “ Reset”, press ( Enter) button, the device restarts the test on the same test number.

5.4        To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Inquire Results”, press (Enter) button, the device begin to Inquire Data. Review method refer to 3.1-3.11’s.

5.5        To press  [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “(10s) Continue”, press (Enter) button, the device will continue the test before power off.

5.6        On “in 10 seconds”, press (Menu) button or move shadow cursor to “in 10 seconds” and press (Menu), the tester returns to LOGO interface.

5.7        To choose “Continue”, “ or “Reset” and have begun to test,  press (Menu) button can cancel the test (same as 4.1-4.6)

 

(1)  Please read the operation manual carefully before operating

(2)  Please check if the tester is well connected to earth before testing

(3)  It is forbidden to move or lift the testing cover in the coarse of testing to avoid injury by high voltage. Power must be off before replace sampling oil.

(4)  Handle with care when taking off or closing high voltage testing cover!

(5)  If the tester works abnormally after insulating oil breaks down, please power off the tester for 10 seconds, then restart again.

(6)  After printing paper is exhausted, please refer to printer explanation part (or manual appendix) to replace printing paper to avoid damage of printer head.

(7)  Keep the tester far from moisture, dust and other corrosive materials, and keep it far away from high temperature sources.

(8)  Handle with care in transportation, don’t put it up side down.

(For reference only)

1.  The standard oil sampling cup and the stirring nut must be kept clean and dry.

2.  The oil sampling cup and stirring nut should be dried before use. When drying them, the temperature should not be high, or else it’s easy to damage sealing gasket of oil cup and plastic stirring nut.

3.  Please put the stirring nut into oil sampling cup, fill in oil to 1/3 cup and then slightly stir the oil in the cup so as to clean the nut and cup. It is suggested to clean them twice or three times before testing.

4.  Fill sample oil into oil cup, to the height of 8-12mm to the top.

5.  Clean oil outside of cup with clean and soft cloth or paper.

6.  Put the oil sampling cup into high voltage chamber carefully. Keep the hands of the operator clean or wear clean gloves.

7.  After oil is put into oil cup, you’d better test it before long. The oil to be tested exposed in open air for long time may affect accuracy of test results.

 

 

1.  Printing paper installation

To start the device to display logo, press (Menu) button to enter main menu. Main menu has three options: “Set Time” “Set Parameter ” and “Inquire Data ”. To press [­ ] and [¯] button to move shadow cursor to “Inquire Data ”, press (Enter) button to enter data management status, LCD will display “Inquire No.: XX”. The power is on for printer at the moment.

Please cut the head end of new paper roll in a shape of triangle. Put down front cover of printer, hold the spring clips which fixes the head of printer, pull out head about 2cm, press the triangle button of the printer for 1 second, the printing paper begins to run, push the front end of paper into inlet, the paper will be rolled into the printer. When paper goes through the head of printer, switch off the power. Hold the two sides of paper axis slightly, install printing paper on the paper axis, get the head of paper go through paper outlet, close front cover.

2.  Ribbon replacement

After the ribbon being used for a period of time, the printed letters will be weak or unclear, you have to replace ribbon at the moment.

Open front cover of printer, hold the spring clips at the two sides of pulling board, pull the board outwards till ribbon box comes out, take off used ribbon, and replace a new one.

Notice: Get the printing paper go through between ribbon box and ribbon.
